摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the titled linear polymer, containing an electron acceptor, and having a quinonediimine structure as main repeating units and electric conductivity, by chemically and oxidatively polymerizing aniline (derivative) with an oxidizing agent having a specific standard electrode potential. CONSTITUTION:(A) Aniline (derivative) or a salt thereof, e.g. o-methylaniline or hydrochloride thereof, is dissolved in a reaction medium, e.g. water, and (B) an oxidizing agent having >=0.6V electromotive force in a reduction half-cell reaction using a standard hydrogen electrode as a standard, e.g. H2O2, is added, for example, slowly thereto to carry out oxidative polymerization. After keeping the reaction mixture under stirring for aging, the resultant polymer is filtered off, and washed with water until the filtrate becomes neutral. The polymer is then washed with an organic solvent, e.g. acetone, until the filtrate is not colored and the washed polymer is vacuum-dried to afford the aimed polymer containing a structure expressed by the formula (R is H or alkyl) as main repeating units.
