N-(2-(((5-(Dimethylamino methyl) 2-furanyl)methyl)thio) ethyl) N-methyl 2-nitro 1,1-ethene diamine with selective action on histamine receptors, is made by (a) reacting 2-furanyl methanol with excess alkyl chloride or aryl sulphonyl chloride in presence of organic solvent (e.g. triethylamine, dimethyl aniline, pyridine) at -10 to 50 deg.C; (b) treating the prod. with dimethylamine hydrochloride in aq. HCHO soln. to form the di-substd. furane; (c) treating 2,2-bis-dimethylthio-nitroethylene with cystamine hydrochloride to give 2-nitro ethylene thiazolidine; (d) reacting this with methylamine to form N-(2-(mercaptoethyl) N-methyl 2-nitro 1,1-ethene diamine; and (e) condensing this with the di-substd. furane at below 50 deg.C in neutral or alkaline medium to obtain the final prod..
