<p>A method for the failsafe representation of a mimic diagram on a data display device (M) is specified, in which the image data supplied to the data display device are continuously checked by the fact that a test code is formed by data reduction from the image data stream and this code is compared with a reference code previously stored and characteristic of the mimic diagram to be displayed. The reference code is formed by modulo-2 addition from a basic code representing the static picture elements and the change codes corresponding to the individual mimic diagram changes. Provision of the reference code saves a second separate image data channel and a second feedback-type shift register for data reduction in devices for carrying out the method according to the invention. When a colour monitor is used as a data display device, the latter applies to each of the three primary colours. <IMAGE></p> |
