Improved, programmable welding control equipment, characterized by comprising a portable programming unit, auxiliary to the control equipment fitted with a microprocessor, EPROM memory with the basic programs and RAM memory for temporary storage of the user program, whose auxiliary unit has a keyboard and a liquid crystal screen on which a series of symbols are displayed indicative of the selectable control unit programs, whose summary description may be obtained via the keyboard in several languages of choice, further including a device for recording EEROM or EAROM memories, taking the form of some small-scale printed circuit boards, connectable to the programming unit, on a defined base on its front panel, for saving user programs permanently, complementary to the RAM memory assigned to the control unit, which may be checked periodically from the said programming unit.
