Weft insert control system is intended for an air jet weaving loom in which different weft yarns (1-3) are injected into the shed (13) by individual main jets (10-12) with pressure appropriate to the respective yarns, the jets being supplied from separate bobbins (4-6) via individually controlled (14-16) drums (7-9), and weft transport jets (33) in the shed are fed with pre-determined pressures and controlled (17,34) according to a given timing pattern. The timing, i.e. injection start and/or duration of action of the main jets is modulated in response to measurements carried out during weaving, e.g. arrival of each weft yarn at the opposite side of the shed detected by the weft monitor (18) and possibly one or more sensors (32) detecting passage of weft yarns through the shed.
