<p>PURPOSE:To protect light emitting and receiving elements from being damaged by a method wherein a phototransmitting members are mounted on element arrangement bases of a pair of leadframe so that both ends of the members may not come into contact with light emitting and receiving elements. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting element 11 and a light receiving element 12 are mounted respectively on element arrangement bases 131a and 132a of leadframe 131, 132. Then a phototransmitting member 16 is placed on the arrangement bases 131a, 132a. The both ends of member 16 shall respectively approach to the element 11 and 12 making proper gap not to come into contact with these elements. Then photopermeating resins 17 are formed on the bases 131a, 132a to cover the both elements 11, 12 and the ends of member 16. Later overall surface is sealed with an opaque resin 18. In such a device, the elements 11, 12 may be protected from being damaged by the member 16 since the member 16 does not come into contact with the elements 11, 12. Besides, the resin 17 covering the connecting parts of member 16, the members 11, 12 may be formed by means of a single process.</p> |
