PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of handling the winding start end of a yarn by non-contact heating a part of the yarn in a yarn hooking groove to be heat-contracted or fued in case of forming a thermoplastic synthetic fiber yarn package. CONSTITUTION:In case of removing a yarn winding round a yarn hooking groove, a fluid jet device 6 having a slit-like fluid passing hole at the forward end, which is adapted to jet air heated more than the fusing point of thermoplastic synthetic resin is brought close to an open end of a yarn hooking groove 2. Subsequently, the fluid jet device 6 or a tube member 1, or both of them are simultaneously moved along the yarn hooking groove 2 to non-contact heat at least a part of a yarn in the yarn hooking groove, so that the yarn is heat-contracted or fused. At this time, a transfer tail part of the yarn fastened by a pasting material 5 is kept from being fused by the heated fluid. Thus, the yarn winding round the yarn hooking groove cay be handled reliably, easily and quickly to remarkably improve the efficiency of handling the winding start end of the yarn. |
