PURPOSE:To considerably simplify labor for passing paper by mounting a retaining means for transporting paper at one end of a roller chain, and engaging a chain pulley with the chain. CONSTITUTION:A bush portion 18 of a roller chain 17 is slidably retained by guide rails 10 or 11 A chain pulley 15 is engaged with the roller chain at a certain place. By rotating an electric motor 16 where the chain pulley 15 is fitted, the roller chain 17 is slid and moved along guide rails 10, 11, 12, 13. Accordingly, in case of passing paper, a web transport bar 14 is moved from a standby position 14b to a position 14a to pass the paper from the position 14a to the position 14b. At the completion of passing paper, the web transport bar is returned to the standby position 14b.
