PURPOSE:To obtain a piezoelectric vibrator with small outer size and withstanding ultrasonic wave rinsing by fixing a part within 1/3 of the lengthwise direction of a reinforcement plate fixing both ends of the piezoelectric vibrating chip having an exciting electrode on its front and rear side to the base of an envelope. CONSTITUTION:A rectangular AT crystal vibrating chip 1 is fixed to the reinforcement plate 4 by supports 5, 5', connections 3, 3' of the chip 1 with a conductive adhesives and soldering materials 7, 7' such as solder. Electrodes 9, 9' provided on, W, Mo metallized plate with Ni, Pb-Sn or the like by means of plating are provided to both ends at the back side of the base 8 and connections 10, 10' are provided to the middle part on the front face. The center part at the lower face of the plate 4 fitted with the chip 1 is fitted to the part within 1/3 of the lengthwise direction of the reinforcement plate at the center of the base 8 by such a material as an adhesives such as epoxy or a low melting point glass 11. Thus, destruction of the piezoelectric vibrator chip due to the spurious resonance and the deterioration in the reliability of connection are avoided and the piezoelectric vibrator excellent in ultrasonic wave resistance is obtained.
