PURPOSE:To simplify and miniaturize the hardware by providing an adaptive control circuit controlled by a signal detection circuit detecting the presence of two-way signal of a 2-wire line. CONSTITUTION:When only a signal from a terminal A to a terminal B exists, the content of an H memory 35 is corrected sequentially and the content of a G memory 44 is not corrected sequentially. When only a signal from the terminal B to the terminal A exists, the content of the G memory 44 is corrected sequentially but the content of the H memory 35 is not corrected. When no signal exists, or when both exist, the content of the H memory 35 and the G memory 44 is not corrected. Since the adaptive control circuit 38 applies the operation of a correction factor DELTAhn for sequential correction of the content of the H memory 35 and the operation of a correction factor DELTAgn for the sequential correction of the content of the G memory 44 in a separate timing respectively, one adaptive control circuit is enough, the hardware is simplified and miniaturized.
