PURPOSE:To prevent the sags of a gap part by finishing a glass surface formed by filling previously glass into a track control groove into a mirror surface after grinding and polishing and then butting two magnetic members with each other together with a heating treatment of a short time. CONSTITUTION:A glass groove 5 is worked to a track control groove 6 between the 1st and 2nd cores and the glass is filled into the groove 5. Then the glass is heated up to a glass melting point in the inactive gas. Thus the groove 6 is filled with the glass. Then the junction face between both cores is finished into a mirror surface by a grinding/polishing working. These two cores are butted with each other and heated again up to the glass melting point in the inactive gas. Thus both cores are joined together with fusion. In such a way, the sags are reduced at both the gap and apex parts 7 and 9 for a magnetic head.
