PURPOSE:To prevent oxidation of a processing solution, and to stabilize a processing agent by processing a silver halide photographic sensitive material in a processing solution while floating bodies on the surface of the processing solution in a processing bath and/or a storage tank and keeping their postures constant. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide photographic sensitive material is processed in the processing solution while the floating bodies are floated on the surface of the processing solution in the processing bath and/or the storage tank, with their postures kept constant, to restrain aeration of the solution to the lower limit and to prevent its oxidation, water evaporation, and gas evolution, because said bodies are constituted so as to keep their postures constant and not to rotate them like spheres, and it is preferred for the bodies to be chemically stable against various kinds of processing solutions, not to elute harmful materials and to be impermeable to the solutions, and polyethylene, polypropylene, glass, etc. are enumerated, thus permitting degradation of the processing solution due to oxidation, evaporation, etc., to be prevented and the processing agents to be maintained stable for a long period. |
