PURPOSE:To make a liquid crystal layer part thin, and to execute quickly a display response by coating silane or an organic resin to the surface of two pieces of substrates, executing an orientation processing by rubbing, and thereafter, putting them into a liquid in which a non-conductive fine particle has been mixed and floated, applying it, and thereafter, evaporating and removing the liquid. CONSTITUTION:A spacer 6 is printed to a substrate 1 or 2 to which a spacer 7 has adhered, the substrate 1 and the substrate 2 are superposed, pinched by a clip, etc., and dried. A space between the substrate 1 and the substrate 2 which have been formed is packed with a liquid crystal and a liquid crystal layer part 5 is formed, but in this case, when the surface of the substrate 1 and the substrate 2 is coated with silane or an organic resin material in advance, and thereafter, the surface is brought to rubbing, a good orientation is obtained. As for a liquid crystal molecule, its orientation is varied by an electric field which has been applied between a conductive transparent electrode 3 and a conductive transparent electrode 4, and a variation of the orientation becomes visible by a polarizing plate 8 and a polarizing plate 9 and a reflecting plate 10. In this way, a display response is executed quickly, also a uniform display response is obtained, and an interference fringe and an interference color are not seen, either.
