PURPOSE:To improve the driving position accuracy of a magnetic tape by supporting the tape at three points for its position control. CONSTITUTION:A lower control guide 13 attached to the side face of a lower drum 2 is set at a position where the guide 13 has a spot contact with the lower end face of a magnetic tape 10. The guide posts 14a and 14b are attached to the upper surface side of a drum base 5 set at the entrance and exit sides of a drum 20 in a direction vertical to said side of the base 5, i.e., in parallel to the side face of the drum 20. Thus both posts 14a and 14b perform a function to keep the winding angles of the tape 10 to the drum 20 and the slant pins 11a and 11b at the fixed value respectively. The upper control guides 15a and 15b are set to the side faces of the fixed posts 14a and 14b respectively and have spot contacts with the upper end face of the tape 10.
