PURPOSE:To reduce the residual stress positively by journaling a press roller and a pair of horizontal varnish rollers rotatably where the press roller is arranged movably up and down between the varnish rollers while employing an inclined pressing face having decreasing width toward the circumferential tip at the side of the varnish roller. CONSTITUTION:Slitted strip boards 6 are supported between a press roller 2 and a varnish roller 4 and when lowering the press roller 2, the cutting edge sections 7 at the opposite sides of the strip board 6 are pressed against the pressing face 5 of varnish roller 4 while advancing to be applied with varnishing from the burr 8 side to the opposite 9 side. The strength of varnishing can be regulated through regulation of pushing strength of the strip board 6 against he inclined pressing face 5. When varnishing continuously from the burr 8 side to the opposite side 9 in such a manner, deformation stress applied downward at the opposite sides of the strip board 6 by means of the vertical cutter of slitter can be reduced. Consequently, widening of strip board 6, twisting of edge section, lateral shrinkage, longitudinal warp or distorsion can be reduced. |
