PURPOSE:To produce a makeup and antisuntan cosmetic having excellent adhesivity to the skin, dispersibility in a base and ultraviolet-shielding effect, by attaching and coagulating hydrophobic fine powder of titanium oxide to the surface of spherical organic powder and using the obtained powder as a component. CONSTITUTION:Hydrophobic fine powder of titanium oxide having a maximum particle diameter of <=0.1mu and an average particle diameter of 0.01-0.06mu (especially preferably fine titanium oxide powder treated its surface with a hydrophobicizing agent selected from higher fatty acids, their water-soluble salts, metallic soaps and higher fatty acid monoesters) is mixed with spherical organic powder (especially preferably polyethylene). The mixture is ground to obtain processed powder having the hydrophobic fine titanium oxide powder attached to and coagulated on the surface of the spherical organic powder. The obtained processed powder is used as a component of the objective cosmetic. The ratio of the particle diameter of the organic powder to that of the fine titanium oxide powder is 100:1-400:1 and the weight ratio of the organic powder to the titanium oxide powder in the processed powder is 100:10-100:50. |
