The invention relates to a process for subterranean electrical prospecting. An electric current is sent into the ground by two point electrodes A and B, at least one of which is disposed at the bottom of a drillhole in the terrain to be prospected. The potential is measured using a third electrode M placed at successive measurement points implanted on the surface of the terrain along a square grid and the values of resistivity measured are reconstructed by isoresistivity lines which show an anomaly at 18. Application to looking for heterogeneities of terrains and in particular medium-depth empty spaces. <IMAGE>
