<p>PURPOSE:To refine a molten metal to Al metal in which impurities are not contained, by passing molten Al metal contg. refractory, oxide, iron fiber, etc., through a porous ceramic fiber to filter the contained impurities. CONSTITUTION:At the sprue gate, etc., generated at time of manufacturing cast product of Al and Al alloy, refractory of vessel for molten Al, Al oxide or iron fiber for filtering impurities in molten Al metal to be cast are mixed. The Al scrap in which impurities are mixed is melted and allowed to flow down on the porous ceramic filter 3 fitted exchangeably to dent part having a tapered surface 5a provided above a bottom communicating hole 6 of a measure shaped ceramic vessel 2. Molten Al metal is allowed to flow down from pores of the filter 3, and impurities such as refractory, oxide, iron fiber are filtered thereby. The filter 3 is exchangeable in the dent part 5, and is exchanged if pores of the filter are clogged with impurities.</p> |
