PURPOSE:To efficiently coarsen fine liquid drops by constituting an element comprising a sheet contg. >=50% fiber having 0.1-10mum single fiber dia., and having 10-70 packing rate and 0.1-70mm thickness. CONSTITUTION:Suitable fiber to be used in a sheet of the element contains >=50wt% single fiber having 0.3-7mum single fiber dia. Suitable packing rate of the fiber is 10-70%, pref. 20-60%. Suitable thickness of the element is >=0.1mm and <=70mm, pref. >=0.2mm and <=50mm. Further, more remarkable coarsening effect may be obtd. by imparting hydrophilic property, etc. to the surface of the material of the element. Fine liquid drops can be coarsened effectively with the above-described element; the coarsening may be possible independently of the affinity of the fine liquid drops to the element.
