PURPOSE:To use an uniform KANJI (Chinese character) by designating a corresponding KANJI pattern to display the document when the designated KANJI code is read and discrimination a registering file of the KANJI to add an attribute display to the displayed document. CONSTITUTION:A dictionary memory is divided into a normally used file 7a, a person's name file 7b, an old form character file 7c, an archaic word file 7d which are separately registered in the files corresponding to the attribute. In the respective dictionary files, respectively discriminating interruption codes 01-04 are applied. Gates 10a-10d selecting the Chinese file every attribute are provided and the use of the respective files can be selectively locked by a designating signal FLS from a selecting key 2a disposed correspondingly to the file on a keyboard 2. In a main control section 1, an interruption code discriminating section 1a is disposed and a discriminating command signal corresponding to the attribute of the Chinese character is formed and applied to a discriminating control section 5a of a display control circuit 5. On a display device 6, the attribute added KANJI is displayed and an uniform KANJI can be used.
