<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to drive a vehicle in a stable condition, by reducing the assisting force of a power steering device in accordance with the speed of the vehicle even if the condition of a road surface becomes slippery due to rain or snow, to make the steering force of a steering wheel heavy. CONSTITUTION:A steering wheel 1 is coupled to a rack 4 through the intermediary of a torque sensor 2 and a shaft 3. A motor 7 is operated under instructions from a control device 8 so that the current value of the motor 7 is controlled in accordance with the detected output of the torque sensor 2. The control device 8 receives the detected outputs of a vehicle speed sensor 13 and a steering angle sensor 11. Accordingly, if the condition of a road surface is deteriorated due to rain or snow, the output of a wiper switch 12 is fed to a control device to control the current value of the motor 7.</p> |
