PURPOSE:To obtain a heat resistant alloy bar, etc. having excellent resistance to high-temp. oxidation at a relatively low cost by using powder prepd. by mixing alloy powder of the heat resistant alloy or stainless steel and powder of rare earth oxides at an adequate ratio, extruding such powder mixture and forming the outermost layer by an HIP method, etc. CONSTITUTION:The powder prepd. by mixing the alloy powder of the heat resistant alloy or stainless steel or the metallic powder of various components and 0.1-2.0wt% powder of >=1 kinds of the rare earth oxides and further 0.1-4.0% oxide powder of Al and/or Si, if necessary or subjecting the powder mixture to mechanical ironing is used and is extruded to produce the bar or wire of the heat resistant alloy having the section made into >=2 layers of the multi-layered structure. The outermost layer is thereafter formed by a working method such as HIP method, by which the heat resistant alloy bar and wire having the excellent resistance to high-temp. oxidation is obtd.
