PURPOSE:To prevent a risk incurring an accident caused by a vehicle which is erroneously moved, by automatically holding a stopping condition of the vehicle when the vehicle is stopped by braking operation. CONSTITUTION:A braking mechanism 16 is operated to brake each wheel 14 by means of an actuating mechanism 18 when a brake pedal 12 is depressed. There are provided a sensor 20 for detecting the ground speed of an automobile 2 to detect the stopping of an automobile 2 relative to the ground, an accelerator switch 22 which is turned on and off in accordance with the depressing condition of an accelerator pedal 10, and a brake switch 24 which is turned on and off in accordance with the depressing condition of a brake pedal 12, which are connected to a control circuit 26. The control circuit 26 sustains the braking mechanisms 16 for the wheels 14 in the brake operating condition in accordance with signals delivered from the sensors, to prevent the automobile from moving.
