PURPOSE:To properly receive the sip of size A5 and to receive surely at least one picture of a transmitted original of the size A4, by providing an image signal storing means capable of storing the image signal of the size A4. CONSTITUTION:A received signal outputted from a network controller 1 is converted into a picture information before a modulation by a demodulating section 2 and the output signal of a demodulating section 2 is converted into an original picture signal by a decoding section 3. This signal PX is temporarily stored in a page memory 5 having the memory capacity of a size A4 initially through a control section 4. When the signal PX of one page of a transmitting original is stored, it is read by the control section 4 and recorded on a recording section 6 using the recording paper of a size A5. When the remaining amount of the recording paper of a paper feeding cassette is 0, and during a multi mode, the image transmission subsequent to the page is stopped and the storing contents of the memory 5 is held. Thereby, the proper receipt of the slip of the size A5 can be done and at least one of the transmitting original of the size A4 can be received and the capacity of the image memory device can be made minimum.
