PURPOSE:To make key inputting characteristic variable, cope with change of the system and obtain optimum keyboard inputting characteristic by making data of an input mode controlling section that controls mode of a keyboard inputting device variable by instruction from a CPU. CONSTITUTION:When the key switch of a key matrix is depressed, a return signal 13 comes out from a key matrix 1 at a point of time when scan data 11 and the key switch conform and thereby a data take in signal 12 is sent to a data buffer 3. The data buffer 3 combines the key switch data taken in and data from an input mode controlling section 4 and transmits to a CPU 5. When changing key inputting characteristic, inputting characteristic changing instruction 14 is outputted from the CPU 5 to the input mode controlling section and data of the input mode controlling section is changed. Consequently, the keyboard inputting device can change key inputting characteristic.
