PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid jet recording head capable of being put to practical use even if an energy generator is not protected by a protective film or a flaw region is generated in the provided protective film and having long life, by providing an electrode which is electrically connected to an orifice plate when the liquid jet recording head is mounted and controls the potential of the liquid in the recording head. CONSTITUTION:The protective film on a heat generation part 2 is removed and the orifice plate 18 directly contacted with a liquid 12 also has the function of an electrode for controlling the potential of the liquid 12 and voltage Vink is applied to the liquid 12.
