PURPOSE:To widely control velocity of coupling reaction with the oxidation product of a color developing agent and to enhance storage stability by incorporating a coupler having a specified group at the site coupling with the oxidation product of a color developing agent. CONSTITUTION:The coupler to be used has at the oxidation product of a color developing agent represented by formula (I) in which R1-R3 are each H or a substituent, independent of each other; TIME is a timing group; W is a hetero atom form forming an auxochrome; Dye is diffusion resistant dye residue; L is formula (IV) or (V); X is -O-, -S-, or formula (VI). The group to be cleft can be linked to the coupling site of the photographic coupler, and such a coupler has one or more active coupling sites in the molecule, and ordinary oil- protective type couplers as well as bis type couplers, and so-called polymer couplers are included in said coupler, and preferable photographic couplers are exemplified by formula (II) or (III). |
