PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution and to attain the recording and reproducing of a still picture without mechanical or electrical switching by recording two fields of data of still picture in one track of a magnetic disc. CONSTITUTION:In one track 2 or another 5 of the magnetic disc 1, a half track of even-number field 3 and of odd-number field 4 are provided, so that two fields of picture data are recorded in one track 2 or 5. The data are reproduced by one magnetic head to correspond to one frame (one scope) of picture. And this is the same with all other tracks. Thus and because one track corresponds with one frame, the constitution of the circuit is made simple. Also, because one head is used, cross talking decreases. In result, the recording and reproducing of the still picture can be executed without mechanical or electrical switching.
