PURPOSE:To enable the through and automatic performance of the whole process of the insertion of a seat metal member, the forming of a projection, etc. by arranging along the flow of a series of working treatments an endless transfer device, separator feeding device, seat metal feeding device, guide means, press mechanism, etc. CONSTITUTION:The separator S inputted into the hopper 21 of a separator feeding device 20 is fed to an endless transfer device 10 at the separator feeding position, placed one by one on the holding member 13 of an endless chain conveyor 11 and transferred in order to the understream stage. The seat metal member fed via a vertical feeder pipe 32 from a seat metal feeding device 30 is fitted on the both ends of the separator S and inserted with the outer fitting, when the separator reaches the seat metal feeding position. The separator S is inserted upto the prescribed position close to the center of the separator S according to the progress of the endless chain conveyor 11 further. A pair of projections for loosening stoppage are formed at the inner side and outer side centering around the prescribed position of the separator S at the approximately center position of the press mechanism 50.
