PURPOSE:To prevent burning when bending moment has functioned onto a sliding bearing by providing a shock absorbing section composed of a slit at the bearing body section at high pressure face side of supporting section of face pressure produced through load of sliding bearing. CONSTITUTION:A slit 15 is made at the high pressure face side of face pressure supporting section of bearing body 14 in radial sliding bearing such that it will be narrower continuously to increase the spring constant from high to low face pressure. Consequently, even upon transmission of bending moment from the shaft 9 to the bearing body 14, the stress caused on the bearing moment is relieved through the slit 15 resulting in prevention of burning on the bearing face.
