PURPOSE:To gasify a coal with a small fuel consumption, by brining an exhaust gas from a fossil fuel combustion oven into contact with a coal while keeping the temp. at 700 deg.C or higher prior to passing through a heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust gas from a fossil fuel combustion oven is brought into contact with a coal while keeping the temp. at 700 deg.C or higher prior to passing through a heat exchanger, causing producer gas reaction and water gas reaction with CO2 and water vapor contained in the exhaust gas and thereafter, desulfurized and heat exchanged.
