PURPOSE:To prevent sticking, fixing or depositing of fats and oils, etc. to an optical member or absorption thereof into said member by pretreating the member by specific one kind of plasma or a material selected from fluorine and fluorine compd. then treating the member by the plasma of a gaseous mixture composed of a hydrocarbon compd. having double bonds and oxygen so that the member has an excellent surface hydrophilicity without deterioration with age. CONSTITUTION:The method for the pretreatment is exemplified by a method for treating the member by the plasma of at least one kind selected from hydrocarbon, halogenated hydrocarbon, nitrogeneous compd., sulfurous compd., silicic compd., fluorine fluorine compd. and rare gas. The method for pretreatment is also exemplified by a method for subjecting the surface of the optical member to a fluorination treatment by exposing the member to fluorine or the fluorine compd. such as hydrogen fluoride, cobalt fluoride, selenium fluoride, manganese fluoride, lead fluoride or silver fluoride. The surface of the optical member subjected to such pretreatment is further treated by the plasma of the gaseous mixture composed of the hydrocarbon compd. having double bonds and oxygen. The plasma polymerized film is thus formed thereon. |
