<p>PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of sheet width control by providing sheet width gages on the inlet and outlet sides of vertical rolls and correcting the control gain of a device for calculating the correction position of the vertical rolls in accordance with the target sheet width and fluctuation rate on the inlet and outlet sides. CONSTITUTION:The sheet width gage 41 is provided on the inlet side of the vertical rolls 2 and the sheet width gage 42 is disposed on the outlet side of horizontal rolls 3. Storage devices 51, 52 for the sheet width on the inlet side and the sheet width on the outlet side connected to the gages 41, 42 are respectively disposed. The device 51 stores the sheet width pattern on the inlet side when a metallic black material 1 passes the gage 41. The device 60 for calculating the position of the vertical rolls calculates the correction rate and a control device 7 for the position of the vertical rolls outputs in conformity with the correction value. The correction value of the control gain for the succeeding material is determined by an arithmetic correction device 14 in accordance with the deviation of the sheet width from the reference sheet width on the inlet side and outlet side of the vertical rolls 2.</p> |
