PURPOSE:To obtain a heat transfer pipe of high thermal efficiency, comparatively easy to be manufactured, for a heat exchanger, by pinching nearly the center parts of metallic materials of wire-shape or strip-shape with proper length between a pair of metallic pipes over the full length of the pipes in the longitudinal direction, by twisting both pipes in the same manner as making, and by joining them to each other by soldering. CONSTITUTION:A heat transfer pipe P of spiral type from which both ends of metallic material 2, 3 of wire-shape or strip-shape are expanded outward is manufactured in such a manner that nearly the center parts of metallic materials 2 or 3 of wire-shape or strip-shape are pinched between a pair of metallic pipes 1, 1' over the full length of the pipes in the longitudinal direction, and both metallic pipes 1, 1' are twisted in the same manner as making ropes. The seams of metallic pipes 1, 1' produced by twisting of both pipes are brazed or soldered 4. Both pipes are unitarily joined in one body by firmly metal-fusion- bonded to easily obtain a heat transfer pipe P. Since two pieces of heat exchanger pipes are twisted with each other, the terminal efficiency of the pipe P is higher than that of a pipe of two-chamber type. Besides the pipes are facilitated to be manufactured in mass production.
