A method is described for removing a front loader, which can be set down on supports, from a loading vehicle of different effective height. The front loader has a mounting frame which in its front end region has catching pockets, via which it is supported on pins, which are fixed to the tractor, with an axis running transversely to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. In order to render easier the subsequent mounting of such a front loader on a vehicle, the pins of which have a different distance from the ground than the vehicle, from which it has been removed, the mounting frame 5 is first, during the removal of the front loader, pivoted about the articulation (catching pocket 15, pin 4) until the supports 22 achieve ground contact and subsequently pivoted about the ground-side end of the supports 22 until it reaches its setting down position. Irrespective of from which vehicle the front loader has been removed, the catching pockets of the mounting frame are thus raised to such an extent during removal that, when the front loader is set down, they are situated at a greater height above the ground than the highest pins of a vehicle suitable for the mounting of the front loader. <IMAGE>
