In mowing cutting units which are used for mowing pulses, cereal silages and the like and which are equipped with short pointed fingers not projecting beyond the mowing cutter at the front, it is often necessary temporarily to arrange crop lifters, when the mown crop is lying flat, so that the individual types of mown crop are cut off only at the lower stalks. So that the mowing work is not, as in already known mown-crop lifters arranged under the fingers, made difficult by the increased risk of blockage caused thereby and the stubble height is not increased, there is proposed a design in which a holder 1 and a lifter part 2 are arranged above the mowing cutter 3 by means of extended finger screws 4, the front part 5 of the holder 1 being located so close above the mowing cutter that it takes effect as an additional cutter holder. <IMAGE>
