Electromagnet, in particular for beating out deformed car body sheets: When repairing damage on deformed car body sheets, the expenditure in terms of work and time for the removal and re-installation of the respective parts play a large role. In order to reduce, or eliminate, the resulting costs which possibly exceed those of the actual repair - the beating-out of the sheet metal - the electromagnet for beating out car body sheets is initially provided with an attachment or insertion component which corresponds to the deformed car body sheet in its normal shape, is then placed on the deformed car body sheet, joined on in a correctly fitting manner and a current is applied to it, as a result of which the dented components are drawn out of their deformed position by means of electromagnetism.
