An apparatus for rinsing glasses comprises a casing which is provided with a lid, a compressed-water pump and a heating device for the water which is introduced and in which are arranged spraying nozzles which are directed towards the glasses which have been inserted. In order to produce such an apparatus, which is of simple design, guarantees the hygienic cleaning of glasses and can be accommodated in a very small space, preferably in a sink, the casing (1) has a first chamber (10) in its floor region, into which chamber (10) the compressed-water pipe (11) opens out and which is closed off at the top by a first intermediate plate (9) which is parallel to the floor (8) of the container and is provided with holes in a screen-like fashion. A second intermediate plate (15) is arranged at a distance from, above and parallel to, the first intermediate plate (9), is provided with the spray nozzles (16), delimits a second chamber (17) and forms the base plate of the rinsing chamber (5) which is situated above the second chamber (17). A heating device (18) for the water is arranged in the second chamber (17) into which opens a pipe (27) which is connected to a metering device (25) for the rinsing agent. The casing (1) is provided with outlet apertures (22) for the washing water in its region connected above the second intermediate plate (15) (Figure 2). <IMAGE>
