摘要 |
PURPOSE:To obtain a vapor-deposited magnetic tape having uniform magnetic characteristics by depositing a ferromagnetic alloy by evaporation on a base film while running said film and introducing gaseous O2 into a vessel and controlling the introducing rate of the O2 in accordance with the measured electric resistance value of a ferromagnetic layer after evaporation. CONSTITUTION:The electric resistance is measured through an electric resistance measuring instrument 8 prior to taking up the tape formed thereon with the ferromagnetic layer after the vapor deposition on a take-up roll 11 in the stage of exposing continuously the ferromagnetic alloy to evaporating particles from a vapor deposition source 14 and forming the ferromagnetic layer while introducing the gaseous O2 to the vessel during the travel of the base film 2 along the circumferential surface of a cooling can 9. The measured value is fed back to a controller 15 by which the introducing rate of the oxygen is controlled. The vapor-deposited magnetic tape having the uniform electric resistance is thus obtd.
