PURPOSE:To permit to reduce the necessary power of the circulating water pump during stopping a plant at night by controlling a flow speed by the number of operating set and the blade angle of the circulating water pump. CONSTITUTION:In case a seawater temperature is low, marine organisms do not adhere to condenser tubes even when the flow speed in the condenser tubes is reduced, therefore, the flow speed is determined, the flow amount of circulating water is obtained, the number of operating set and the blade angle of the circulating water pump are controlled and the necessary power in the plant can be reduced in accordance with the condition of seawater temperature. The flow speed in the condenser tube is determined by an operator 16 based on a signal from a seawater temperature detector 8. The flow amount of circulating water is determined in the operator 17 from the flow speed in the tube and an alarm setter 18 is operated by the flow amount signal of circulating water from the operator 17. In case the flow amount is more than a specified amount, the operation of the pump is switched to two-set operation and the operation of these pumps is controlled by the signal of the operator 21. In case the flow amount of circulating water is less than the specified value, the operation is switched to one-set operation and the operation thereof is controlled by the signals of the operators 20, 22. The control signal of the operator controls circulating water pump blade angle motors 29, 30 through regulators 25, 26 by a difference between the signals of actual blade angle detectors 6, 7. Accordingly, necessary power of circulating water pump may be reduced during stopping the plant at night.
