PURPOSE:To improve workability, by providing an auxiliary rotary driving power source interlocking a fluid hydraulic cylinder to a lever mechanism which moves a driving gear in the axial direction to be engaged with and disengaged from a driven gear. CONSTITUTION:When a pinion 3, serving as a driving gear, is disengaged from a flywheel gear 1 being a driven gear, an apparatus, giving a normal and a reverse motion of rotation to the pinion 3 by an auxiliary reversible motor 23 serving as an auxiliary rotary driving power source, detects stopping of the gear 1. And the apparatus, rotating the pinion 3 for a fixed time in the opposite direction to actuate a fluid hydraulic cylinder 13, disengages the pinion 3 to be detached. Consequently, the apparatus automatically disengages the gear to be detached without causing any risk of damage in the gear.
