HIGHLY TRANSPARENT POLYOLEFIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. which has excellent transparency, flexibility, resistance to heat, chemicals and oils and moldability and is advantageous in cost and suitable for use as a material for food packaging material and medical appliances, consisting of an ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer and a propylene polymer. CONSTITUTION:Ethylene and a 3-12C alpha-olefin are copolymerized in the presence of a catalyst composed of a combination of a solid catalytic component contg. Mg and Ti with an organoaluminum compd. to obtain an ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer (A) having a density of 0.86-0.92g/cm<3>, the max. peak temp. Tm of 100 deg.C or above as measured with a differential scanning calorimeter and a boiling n-hexane-insoluble matter content of 10wt% or above. 60-90pts.wt. component A is blended with 10-40pts.wt. propylene polymer having a melt flow index of 0.1-1,000g/10min such as propylene homopolymer or block or random copolymer composed of a major proportion of propylene and a minor proportion of 3-12C alpha-olefin.
