PURPOSE:To produce inexpensively a stable head having large output by adjusting the Ni compsn. of the magnetic core of a thin film magnetic head of which the magnetic core is formed of an Ni-Fe binary alloy to the ratio within a prescribed range. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic core of this thin film magnetic head is formed of the Ni-Fe binary alloy by using an electroplating method. The Ni compsn. of such magnetic core is adjusted to 81.6-83.0%. Magnetic restriction is zero at about 81.5% compsn. of Ni in the Ni-Fe binary 'Permalloy(R)'. On the other hand, the crystal magnetic anisotropy has the min. value as well with the same compsn. as the compsn. with which the magnetorestriction is zero. The magnetic anisotropy larger than the shape anisotropy must exist stably even in a heating stage in the process for production in the case for forming the magnetic core of the thin film magnetic head. The magnetic anisotropy provided by the impression of an external magnetic field is stable at 81.6-83.0% Ni by weight of the 'Permalloy(R)' compsn. The magnetic anisotropy is small and unstable at <81.6% Ni compsn. and the magnetic anisotropy increases but the magnetorestriction increases and such is undersirable when the compsn. exceeds 83.0%. |
