PURPOSE:To decide the correspondence between photographic paper and a film accurately and automatically by detecting the picture element density values of both images of the photographic paper and film by a photosensor, calculating the feature quantities of both images and deciding whether or not both images correspond to each other. CONSTITUTION:A graph (A) shows the density curve DF of an image along the lengthwise direction of the negative film 12 and a graph (B) shows the density curve DP of an image along the lengthwise direction of the photographic paper 16. The density value I of one image is converted into a value J by, for example, a conversion equation J=alpha-betaI (I), where alpha and beta are constants. The curve DR in (C) is obtained by converting the curve DP by using the equation (I) and nearly conforms with the curve DF. In this example, when ¦F(xi)-R (yi)¦<delta holds for every value (i), it is decided that both images are coincident with each other. Here, F(xi) is the transmission density of the film at a sampling point, R(yi) the converted density R(yi) of the reflection density P(yi) of the photosensitive paper at a sampling point yi and delta a constant value. |
