PURPOSE:To enable fast printing to be obtained without nozzle clogging by using thermally evaporating ink. CONSTITUTION:An ink jet printer is composed of an air supply 3 to circulate a constant flow of air into a case 1 and thermally evaporating ink stored in the case 1. If a heat source 6 is driven by a heat source drive circuit 7, the thermally evaporating ink 4 is heated, part of which is evaporated into ink mists. At that time, generated ink mists are injected by the air flow through a nozzle 2. Since the ink 4 used is of a liquid form but thermally evaporating type, it is already in gas phase when passing through the nozzle 2, and besides is carried by the air, so that is does not stick to the surrounding of the nozzle 2. Thus a clogging in the nozzle 2 due to ink drying does not occur. |
