IC engine auxiliary combustion chamber

The auxiliary combustion chamber is designed for use with an IC engine and has a housing with heat-insulation. This insulation comprises a rigid casing (3) fitting closely round the housing (1) so as to leave an air gap (4) between them. There can be a coating of heat-insulating material on the outside of the housing, the distance between this coating and the casing being less than the coating thickness.
