PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer recording medium capable of enduring repeated use and being produced at favorable productivity, by providing a specified undercoat layer on a base, and providing thereon a heat-fusible coloring material layer comprising a coloring material and a heat-fusible substance. CONSTITUTION:The undercoat layer comprising a vinyl acetate copolymer, a stickiness-imparting agent and a low polymerization degree polyethylene resin as main constituents is provided on the base, and the heat-fusible coloring material layer comprising a coloring material and a heat-fusible substance as main constituents is provided thereon. A hot-melt type adhesive having a low melting point and a low melt viscosity, capable of being in the form a thin film and showing a strong adhesion to the base and the coloring material layer is used as the undercoat layer. Accordingly, a thermal transfer recording material capable of enduring repeated use and being produced at favorable productivity can be produced, and printing with high density and high quality can be performed in repeated printing. |
