摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain image data of high quality even under variable ambient light environments by providing an electrooptic shutter whose light transmission characteristics are electrically controllable for varying ambient light. CONSTITUTION:Part 18 of incident light 16 is made incident on the electrooptic shutter 2, whose light transmission characteristics are controlled with the output signal 25 of an amplifying means 12. controlled light information is converted photoelectrically by an image pickup means 3 and stored in an image memory 6. A controller 7 processes data in the image memory 6 and makes a necessary judgement on the basis of the processed data to send commands necessary for respective shafts of an industrial robot. Incident light 21 is converted by a photoelectric converting means 9 and inputted to an arithmetic means 10 and a ternary coding means 29. The arithmetic means 10 performs specific arithmetic between a reference voltage and the electric signal to generate a signal 23. If abnormally intense or weak incident light arrives, a memory control means 8 inhibits the output data of an A/D converting means 5 from being stored in the image memory 6 in response to the output of the ternary coding means 29.
