PURPOSE:To eliminate perfectly a poor performance owing to a leak of a stem plate and improve the yield rate of the lamp manufacture, by covering the whole surface of the stem plate exposed inside the lamp with a glass frit, and increasing the baking and hardening temperature more than a specific value. CONSTITUTION:A glass frit paste 12' is spread over the whole upper surface of a stem disk 1 which consists the stem plate. Before the glass frit paste 12' is dried up, a common cathode stem 3, three anode stem plates 6, an oxidizing gas intake 15, three inner tubes 8, and an outer tube 11 are, in this order, loaded at the given positions. After drying up the glass frit paste 12' thoroughly, the glass frit 12 is baked up and hardened at the temperature profile higher about 50 deg.C than the specific value and all parts are sealed up airtight, while the air or the like is flown in into the lamp through the oxidizing gas intake 15 by using a small pipe 16. Then, the oxidizing gas intake 15 is sealed, and, finally an ordinary exhaust operation is carried out through an exhaust pipe 4, a discharge gas is sealed in the airtight space 13, and the exhaust pipe 4 is sealed up.
