PURPOSE:To provide superior shock resistance to a molded article of thermoplastic polyester resin composition prepd. by adding a specified amount of a filler to thermoplastic polyester by treating the molded article with an alkali soln. to roughen the surface and by plating the roughened surface with a metal. CONSTITUTION:A composition prepd. by adding 5-250pts.wt. one or more kinds of fillers selected among titanium dioxide, aluminum oxide, potassium metasilicate, mica, talc, potassium carbonate and glass fiber to 100pts.wt. thermoplastic polyester is molded. The molded article is treated with an alkali soln. to roughen the surface. A nickel layer is then formed on the roughened surface by electroplating. At this time, the whole or a part of the nickel layer is made of mat nickel and/or semimat nickel.
